Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
How does Joyn Health differ from traditional primary care?
At Joyn Health, we’ve reimagined the physician-patient relationship by limiting our physicians’ patient load to around 250. This allows our physicians to give quality time and attention to each individual. This intentional approach ensures our physicians can provide comprehensive care spanning prevention, wellness, chronic condition management, and more, optimizing longevity and healthspan. By prioritizing personalized attention over volume, we create an environment where members receive exceptional care, and physicians can focus on quality, extending their careers with a mindful workload balance.
Does Joyn Health accept insurance?
We don’t accept insurance directly. However, your physician will coordinate with your insurance for advanced diagnostics, new testing, or medical procedures as needed in your care plan.
Does Joyn Health provide chronic disease management services for conditions like diabetes and hypertension?
Joyn physicians are board-certified in internal medicine and/or family medicine, providing a comprehensive range of primary care services, including chronic disease management and more.
Can I consult my Joyn Health doctor for acute care needs instead of visiting an urgent care?
Absolutely, your Joyn Health doctor is available to address acute care needs that are not true medical emergencies, such as those requiring a 911 call. They can guide you to the appropriate level of care to ensure your health needs are met effectively and efficiently.
What is the cost of Joyn Health membership?
Membership prices are location-specific and set to ensure your physician is properly compensated for the service and hospitality for their 250 patients. Please inquire with your Joyn Health location for local pricing.
Can I pay for Joyn Health membership upfront for the whole year?
Yes, at Joyn Health, we provide the option to pay for your membership upfront for the whole year, or you can choose a monthly payment plan.
Are tests like blood work covered in Joyn Health membership?
Yes, certain tests, including blood work, are included in your Joyn Health membership. However, it’s important to understand that your physician will assess which tests are suitable for your specific needs. While some tests are covered by your membership, others may not be. If a test is not covered, your physician will assist you in navigating whether it’s covered by your insurance or requires a separate payment.
How often will I meet with my physician, and what communication options are available?
Your frequency of appointments with your physician will be tailored to your individual requirements. At Joyn Health, we offer various communication options to accommodate different levels of urgency. These options include SMS/text messaging, your physician’s mobile phone number, our electronic health record communication portal, and more.
Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) for Joyn Health membership?
All patients are encouraged to consult with their insurance company to determine how Joyn Health membership fees are treated under HSA guidelines.
